Job Summary:

We are seeking a drivers with MC drivers licence & Dangerous Goods licence to manage our combinations transporting freight from NW Qld to Townsville. Minimum of 5 years experience road train required

We are a family operated business with 30+ years experience in transport & logistics.

This is a temporary position for a contract, with a view to full time with GVI Contracting.

The applicant should have a Conscientious attitude, Good Driving History, References, Communication skills & Work Practices.

Job Responsibilities:

Efficient operation of the Prime Mover and associated equipment
Complete all necessary associated documentation
Have Strong Communication skills & a pleasant approach when dealing with company associates & work colleagues.
Take good care of vehicles / equipment under your care – Daily Checks & cleanliness.
Ensure compliance with all safety, fatigue, Main Roads Heavy vehicle operating guidelines and company guidelines

Qualifications & Experience:

Current Multi-Combination (MC) Drivers Licence with a minimum of 5 years experience Roadtrain/ Triple combinations.
Dangerous Goods (DG) licence
Experienced in driving heavy bulk vehicles and other heavy machinery
Knowledge and understanding of applicable Commonwealth/State Safety and Environmental legislation and standards, Main Road Heavy vehicle legislation and permitting standards
Ability to work autonomously using a proactive approach to task resolution
Ability to work well within a small team environment
Mechanical Knowledge is an advantage.
