Truck Driver: Collects & delivers food to those in need, adhering to safety protocols & Christian ethos.
Hands and Feet is a not-for-profit organisation that provides help in times of need for the poor, vulnerable, widows, orphans and people with disabilities. Our warehouse in Sydney (Kings Park) is used to collect, sort and distribute food to people in need through a network of churches.
Hands and Feet are looking for a competent Truck Driver (LR License minimum) to work full time (38 hours per week) to help us collect and deliver food to and from the HF warehouse.
The role will involve working under the leadership of the Sydney Warehouse Manager to ensure the smooth running of collecting and distributing food to people in need. The following activities are expected of the successful applicant:
– Drive the HF vehicle to collect and/or distribute food.
– Load and unload the vehicle with the aid of warehouse staff.
– Support the Warehouse Manager by participating in warehouse operations when requested.
– Bring honour to the HF name by the way the vehicle is driven.
– Report incidents or concerns with the vehicle’s condition in accordance with our procedures.
– Ensure the assigned vehicle is filled with fuel when required using the petrol card supplied.
– Maintain the vehicle logbook.
– Keep the inside of the vehicle tidy and clean.
– Wash the vehicle down weekly to ensure it presents well on the road.
– Complete the P-18 Transport Policy and the T-42 Driver Induction Checklist.
– Any fines collected while driving an HF vehicle for traffic infringements will be the driver’s responsibility.
Qualifications that would be an advantage:
– LR License minimum
– Personal skills: patience and the ability to work with and encourage people.
– Understanding of safety protocols for operating forklifts.
